I've got to hand it to the author for this emotional highway from Hades. In Pieces For You, we're following Sam's journey on recovery from what happened to her in book 1. I adored Sam's character in book one and was utterly heartbroken when she was brutally attacked. I was worried she would never come back to us as her bubbly, out-spoken self. *Note to the reader: This novel deals with Sam's recovery from a horrendous near death rape experience... Although the rape isn't discussed in a detailed account, it is the subject matter at hand so I want to make sure and point that out.*

The road to recovery was definitely not an easy one but she made amazing strides. The characters were there to support her along the way but she is the one who decided to attack her fears head on. She's such a brave, amazing character. I applaud her for going forward and not focusing on the horrific past. I would probably crawl into a hole and never come out. With Griffin (Swoon!), Ev & Hunter playing their own roles in her recovery, she couldn't have been in better hands. I adore her Therapist. If I ever come to a point in my life where therapy is required, I want to request someone like her. She was awesome. Loved her character!

Overall, the twists and turns in the plot were nail biting - the stress that's placed on Sam's life, threats constantly against her life, and then the stress of being the only person left willing to testify against "him."  The final twist really threw me over the edge and made me love this book even more for taking me by such surprise. I adored this novel even more than book 1 because of the constant struggle that was Sam's life (not to mention the chemistry with Griffin... good lord, can I have one of those?).

Oh, and Meg. I can't leave her character out. I'm truly hoping the author is planning to write something from her POV. I need to go look that up as soon as I finish this review. She's a mystery character. One we love but don't know much about. We start seeing hints of her life struggles but we really have barely even scratched the surface. She's such a likable character but you can tell she has a past that she doesn't want to revisit.

Overall, definitely a 5 star novel for me. I truly enjoyed it & honestly look forward to what this author comes up with next.

Cover Rating: 3.5 Stars <- I like it but it just doesn't scream the story to me... But Hello Hottie on the cover!
