Synopsis via Goodreads:

The first installment in a sexy new paranormal romance series by Larissa Ione, author of the bestselling Demonica series!

A WOMAN OUT FOR BLOOD
Nicole Martin was only eight years old when the vampire slaves rose up in rebellion and killed her family. Now she devotes her life to finding a vaccine against vampirism, hoping to wipe out her memories—along with every bloodsucker on the planet. But there’s one thing she cannot destroy: her searing, undeniable attraction for the one man she should hate and fear the most . . .

A VAMPIRE OUT FOR REVENGE
A member of the renegade vampire MoonBound Clan, Riker is haunted by demons of his own. When he recognizes Nicole and remembers how her family enslaved his loved ones, his heart burns for vengeance. But when he kidnaps Nicole and holds her in a secret lair, his mortal enemy becomes his soul obsession, his greatest temptation, and, perhaps, his only salvation—a hot-blooded lover who could heal him with her touch . . . or bury him forever.

AMAZING start to a new series from Ione! I was lucky enough to be given an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I had already pre-ordered it but getting it early was super exciting for me. Lol

The main thing you should know right now is Ione doesn't disappoint. If you're a fan, you'll love it. If you have yet to read anything by Ione, this is a good one to start with. One of the main reasons she's one of my favorite authors is her world building skill. She brings an amazing spin on the history of vampires into this new series. Brilliant characters and a great plot! I can't wait until the next installment of this series!

Humans vs vampires... The world is a nasty place for Vampires - especially those who end up being dragged to the D. Nicole had no idea what was really going on within her company. I loved how her eyes were opened to the horrible miseducation she's received regarding vampires. Her brother and those behind the D are such scum. Ugh. Now, there's also a huge part of the plot involving vampires vs vampires. I enjoyed both aspects.

Now, the Native American historical spin on the history of the first vampire is interesting. I can't wait to read the next novel because I can't wait to see how more of it ends of playing out and being exposed. I won't say too much because, honestly, it was one of the plot twists that kept surprising me. Especially towards the end when Hunter and Kars were speaking another language.

So, anyway, overall - loved it! I love Nicole & Riker to pieces. Plus Myne. And Bastian. And, hell, several other characters.
